BeijingDance/LDTX was born out of a controversial time of cultural change in China, becoming the country's first non-governmental and independent professional dance company. Founded by veteran choreographers and a new generation of dancers in China, BeijingDance/LDTX mixes Chinese traditions and Western contemporary movement styles to create captivating and technically breathtaking performances.

Join Ordway staff and company members from the World Music and Dance performances for a reception in the Marzitelli Foyer following their performances. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
Ordway Extras at the Saint Paul Central Library
Led by artists, community members and/or Ordway staff, community members can expect to learn and engage at these presentations with topics that can cover everything from the social issues surrounding a piece to the technical aspects that turn a performance into an illusionary spectacle. For the first time, these Ordway Extras will take place at the Saint Paul Central Library.

A panel of artists will demonstrate and discuss their art form practiced in the Twin Cities and its connection to their Chinese cultural heritage. This event will cover topics surrounding the process of defining Chinese identity through artistic expression in both contemporary and traditional Chinese culture.

This presentation is supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Minnesota State Arts Board, General Mills Foundation, and Land O'Lakes Foundation.
